Long sail today from Ganges to Nanaimo. About 23 plus miles. Had our jib up thru Dodd Narrows but we had to motor as the water was against us for another 7 minutes or so for the current. Blue sky most of the day, but now rain in Nanaimo since 4pm or so. We did wing on wing sailing most of the day with our new pole holding out the jib. We’re thinking of doing the inside, inside (for the Inside Passage) like Marshall is doing since we haven’t gone that way before. I picked up a fishing and salmon license for $112 CN. Hopefully we’ll catch some fish, prawns and crab etc. So far the new Balmar regulator seems to be working ok, holding at around 14.4 volts or so and no over charging. We’ll see how it does. Seems this town closes up at 5pm, library, coffee shops, finally rode to McDonalds and they have free internet now. Sail 23.2, 177.7 Total nm.
