7-14-09 Tuesday Queen Charlotte City July 16, 2009

Posted by captnmike in The Queen Charlottes 2009.

Cloudy all day with fog in the morning some. Some mist or drops in the morning. Most of the day was relatively dry. We took a road trip starting at 8am to Massett, Old Massett, Port Clements, Tow Hill, Agate Beach, The Blowhole, Golden Spruce trail, Balance Rock and a bunch of totems. All of these places are on the north island called Graham Is. When we came back I headed to the library and sent an email as above. Then met up at a restaurant for ½ a burger and a full beer, then we headed to a slide show talk on the Queen Charlottes at the info center. Another sailboat came in from Alaska, Kievit, they are from San Francisco. They used to clear customs in Massett but can’t anymore as there is no customs on the islands here, so they left Massett at 3 am and arrived here. They will try to clear in Tofino or Port Hardy depending if they go inside or outside.
