7-18-09 Thurston Harbour, Sat. August 12, 2009

Posted by captnmike in The Queen Charlottes 2009.

We got up at 5am, weather was lighter for winds so we went for it. Much better. Sailed for 28.4 miles, motored for 31.1 miles. As we came into Thurston Hbr. we noticed Lively was anchored at the head of the harbour. They were the ones that we thought were headed to Banks Island yesterday. They just took a long tack then headed into the Park area. It was rough but they managed. It helps to have a much longer water line too. I put out a crab pot but after dinner check showed two sun starfish so reset it near another creek. 845.6 Total miles.
