7-19-09 Thurston Harbour Sun August 12, 2009

Ah, we finally got a chance to sleep in. Didn’t get up until 10 am. Checked the crabpot and only two rock crabs and a small dungy. There are lots of lion head jellyfish in the harbour. We headed to Skedans (Koona) Indian village with Tenacity and left Code Blue anchored. There was a police skiff boat coming in too from a big boat with 5 policemen. We took a tour of the past village with them from Paul our watchmen guide. Most of the poles were not in too good of shape and some columns for longhouses with dug out areas from the longhouses. One memorial pole still is standing with 13 rings for each Potlatch that the chief held in his lifetime. Sun broke out once in a while, some rain and sprinkles for a little while too. Three deer up on shore keep showing up once in a while.
