‘8-11-10 We had salmon cooked 3 ways, and potluck dishes.  Allyson played the guitar and sang campfire songs at the dinner table afterwards.  A lady in a kayak saw a black bear on shore, we just missed it by about 2 minutes in our dinghy.  Later we did see her video she got of the bear.  Finally a clear sky at night for looking at stars, milky way and the like.  Our best night for stars on the trip so far.

‘8-12-10 Allyson met us at the cook house at 8:30am so we could pay our bill.  85 cents a foot plus 12% tax.  We headed out right away from Jennis Bay Marina, headed to Turnbull Cove.  She gave us a song book.  They use Port McNeil tides plus 20 minutes for getting thru Stuart Narrows.  We had current with us when we went thru.  We got up to 10.7 kts.  We motored to Turnbull Cove and anchored with seven boats in the cove.  On the way in we viewed Roaring Hole Rapids, a reversing Lagoon that had water coming out at a wonderous clip.  Went to shore and I tried out my bungee to anchor line setup as the beach is a long way to shore.  We hiked to Huaskin Lake, took some pictures.  Hiked back then headed to Sullivan Bay via boat.  Bungee setup worked good.  At Sullivan, Judy docked the boat with no problems.  We headed to the store.  Free very brown bananas for Dan’s birthday pie, a tomato, frozen hamburger.  We walked the docks and saw a helicopter take off from the roof landing of one of the houses.  We then burned some paper trash near the store.  We headed out to Twin Beaches to meet back up with Bluefin and Dark Star.  Some kayakers have taken over the spot we had the last time in this area.  So we are on the backside and a bit from the beach.  Blue sky did not show up today.

8-13-10 We visited a culturally modified Tree on an island near Twin Beaches.  Then headed back to the boats.  Blue skies are coming out but still some fog around.  Looking good though.  Headed to Pierre’s Echo Bay for s stop them on to Kwatze Bay.  Dan’s Birthday today.  We stopped in at Pierre’s Echo Bay and picked up some groceries.  Visited with Pierre and Tove.
