‘9-1-10, Wed. – We left Schooner Cove in light winds from the northwest. Got to Nanaimo YC, 703.8, then dinghied into downtown and picked up supplies at Thrifty Food. We noticed Lady Liberte’ on the dock so stopped in to say hi to Bob and Penny. They keep their boat in our same marina. We then headed to dinner to celebrate Judy’s birthday. Nauticals Seafood Bar and Grill was reported to be a good place so the 10 minute walk really was 15 minutes. At first we went in to the dining area but the chlorine smell from cleaning was too much so we moved to the sun deck. We had a good meal and service. We got our bill and noticed it had an “sd” on each food line item with 15% off so thought he had given us a discount due to “sun deck”. Later, on the way out we noticed the specials for the day, Wednesday was “Senior Discount” day.

‘9-2-10 Thurs – We left with good weather then stopped in at Princess Cove on Wallace Island to update our memento at the cabin. We couldn’t find it inside where it was the last time we were here. We did find it outside and updated it. From there we got to Annette Inlet, 735.6, on Prevost Island. We saw one boat in there but turned into about 8 boats. It was very calm and quiet for the night.

‘9-3-10 Fri – We headed out in the morning and made it into Friday Harbor, 761.1. to visit some friends and maybe go buddy sailing with them. No room inside for a normal slip, so we are on breakwater “A”, the first slip in. There is quite a bit of water motion out here. Good band playing on the grass area called the Rhythmatics. We had dinner with our friends Sam and Kay at the Downriggers in the bar. Beer was 50% off and special menu items were 25% off due to Happy Hour.

‘9-4-10 Sat – We’re headed to Sucia.
