We’re in Marina Seca Guaymas and the bathrooms (Banos) are not the best. A step down from Marina Seca San Carlos. They were promised last February some say and other dates. Finally it looks like they will open soon. Here’s some pictures of the new ones that will open within a week they say. They are outside the fence so they will only be open say 7 or 8am to 7 or 8pm. The old ones will be open 24 hours a day. The rooms are 32 ½ feet by 14’ 4” with 4 showers and 4 stalls, men’s has two sinks and a urinal. Women’s is similar with two sets of double sinks.. Showers are 64” x 44”, stalls are 54” x 45”. So far only two lights, no fans or exhaust, 3 small windows and some shelves in a corner.

We were supposed to launch today, Saturday 12-14, but they chose to tear down the motor for the Marine Travel Lift to fix it on Friday, solenoid on the starter, water pump and alternator service. They didn’t get it back together until Saturday at 1:30pm, then needed to wait 3 hours for the gasket material to set. They say they will pick up the boat on Sunday morning, which is pretty rare, wait two hours while we sand and paint with two coats. Then they will launch us. The winds are in the 30 knot area this evening. Warm in 80’s tomorrow and lighter winds but still high 20’s. We are just headed to Fonatur Marina about 5 miles away near downtown Guaymas. They have laundry facilities. Finally clean clothes for us and clean rags for the boat.

Thought I’d send this to some of the boaters that are or have been at the yard here.
