OK, we got up early 6am local and tied the dinghy down so we can use the staysail. We tested it out also a bit while on the hook. We’re just leaving Nuku’alofa, Tonga at about 9am.
Here’s a short email from John Martin considering the weather we expect at Minerva Reef and on to New Zealand

“Hello Steve and Judy, weather certainly looks good for Minerva. If you carry on past there you will likely see a light patch thursday between systems and the new high developing on Friday with S or SSE winds backing to east by Sunday.

Have a great passage and see you in Opua.

Cheers, John”

We had a big Going Away Halloween Party at Big Mama Yacht Club, here’s some pictures from the party, Sven and Lisa from a big 65 ft. custom sailboat s/v Dana Felicia, Group Halloween party picture mostly with costumes, Pirate Benjamin is about 11 months old and headed on s/v Fluenta to New Zealand too. Thanks to Jan and Jack of s/v Anthem (Hylas 46′) for helping with our fishing lures and other items.

Probably our next major update will be when we get to Opua, NZ in 12 days or so. Just a slight correction to previous blog, the carver that did the sperm whale is Mele the woman in the picture.
