Code Blue – Wellington, NZ 29 Jan 16 January 28, 2016

Posted by steveandjudy in Code Blue 2016.

We’re in Wellington, south part of North Island, NZ. Getting colder so thought I would send this bit of info, plus winter in the PNW. I’ll have to switch out of shorts soon. We catch the ferry at 5pm for Picton on the south island, that takes 3 1/2 hours. Got this from a skier friend. Can’t find my camera since yesterday. But we found our Lonely Planet book for NZ. Lost on Van is at least a smaller project than Lost on Boat. Sun came out earlier today, now a uniform gray cloudy sky, ” New Zealand – Land of the Long White Cloud” the Maori used to say in their language.

Hey maybe your camera is with Greg’s black vest, which we have been looking for since this am when we left to golf and it was 46 and chilly! Let me know if you find them together. Seems like old age is directly proprotionate to how often something is misplaced. Thanks for the updates on your location. Marie

So nice to hear that you were about to board the ferry to Picton. I’ve ridden that but northbound in 1995. I rode the overnight ferry from Wellington to Littleton (near Christchurch) in 1962! That was a fun trip but not many sights to see. I’m looking forward to hearing about Christchurch. It had so much damage in the earthquake that it’s bound to be a different city now.
