To Code Blue folks 10-7-16

We wanted to check out another restaurant nearby Vuda Point and walked along the railroad tracks for a bit toward the Anchorage Restaurant about 1 mile away south and then a sugar cane locomotive came along, and I put out my thumb to hitch a ride and he stopped a ways toward the restaurant so I ran to the cab and jumped in. He started up and then stopped when he saw Judy walking fast so he stopped again. I blew the whistle, later a car was parked across part of the tracks, so the Assistant Engineer tugged on the whistle and kept it on until a lady came running to her car and moved it. About a 7 minute ride by train. They had two sugar cars with sugar cane on the back of the engine that was running backwards.

Dinners were a bit more expensive there and they have a nightly Happy Hour from 5 to 7:30pm beer was $6.30 each, Here it’s $3.90 HH, and $5.90 regular.
They had a kava ceremony with about 8 folks trying it out and a guy leading the what to do when, for cupping your hands together, Bula and such. A guy runs around in a real warrior or village old time costume outfit (dried leaf shirt) and lights the Tiki lights around the pool area. The restaurant doesn’t start serving dinner until 6pm. Which is when it starts getting dark and we want to head back to Vuda Pt. Walk back took 20 minutes so we figure a mile distance was right.

I entered a comment some place, but it’s gone. That is the funniest story about your train ride. So – do you think you are in the boondocks? Of course, my idea of a train and your train are somewhat different. It looks like a little kid’s play train! I read all your blogs and marvel at what you are doing, where you are going, and that Judy and I are about the same age. Stay safe Jud!
